We saw Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Major spoilers are up ahead so stop reading now.
Dawn of Justice is dark but considering Superman did the unthinkable and killed Zod in the last movie I went in expecting this.
There were a lot of discussions on whether Ben Affleck could pull off Batman. I thought he made for an excellent Bruce Wayne and was not too shabby as Batman. The only thing I did not like is when he started using guns. Batman is a ninja, he has no need for guns!
“I couldn’t pay attention to a thing he was saying, I was just staring at his face the whole time, he was so handsome.” – Janishyathi
I did like how Batman appears weathered and shown to have gone through his lifetime of battles, especially when he walks past Robin’s vandalized outfit. I am led to believe that was Jason Todd’s after Joker killed him.
Speaking of villians, Jesse Eisenberg did a fantastic job channeling his Social Network Mark Zuckerberg. He is crazy evil and how he gets his bald head is more fitting than Smallville’s Lex.
I like the Justice League teasers as well. Flash seems like a Quicksilver knock off without the mask but did like how he looked when he used his time travel abilities to reach Batman. This must be something they will explain in the Justice League movie.
I always pictured Aqua Man with blonde hair but fitting the dark themes of the movie and series I guess that is where the movie waves carried him.
Cyborg did not make sense at first but then I saw the deleted scene Warner Brothers released and it makes more sense along with how Lex knows about Darkseid at the end.
I thought they rushed the Doomsday bit at the end but I see why they wanted the “Death of Superman” story line out of the way so they can catch up Justice League with the Avengers.

Gia Gadot played an awesome Wonder Woman, I cannot wait for her movie.
